Good habit = Good brain


Yes, it seems common to many people, but the only way to have a healthier brain that functions well is just by changing your habits into a good one. Let's try on these simple habits and believe me, you will be amazed with the result.

1. Say NO to CIGARETTES!

Yes, smoking does bring damages to our body and our brain as well. It happens because it constricts the arteries that transport oxygen to our body and BRAIN. This will eventually causes the brain to have a poor intellectual development. According to a scientific study made by researchers at the University of Edinburgh, those who smoke performed worse in an IQ tests

2. Don't STRESS yourself

Don't easily get yourself into stress because it definitely not good for our brain. This is because, when our stress hormone levels remain consistently high, our stress hormone called cortisol can actually damage a part of our brain called the hippocampus, thus, making our brain defective. So, figure out our own ways of dealing with stress including spending precious time with family and friends or having our preferable hobbies-now!  

3. Eat MORE NUTRIENTS!


There's an old adage saying that 'You are what you eat' and in order to have a healthier brain, just change your eating habit-eat more nutrients. Nutrients that enhance brain function include Vitamin B which is found in broccoli, citrus fruits, soybeans and other dark leafy vegetables. Besides that, eat more cold-water fish like tuna and salmon which contain Omega-3 fatty acids

4. Let's BREATHE fresh air!

Scientifically, the largest consumer of oxygen in our body is our brain. Although it only weighs about 2% of our body mass, but incredibly it consumes over 20% of oxygen we intake. So, the more fresh air we breathe, the more oxygen that gets into our brain cells. This will bring greater clarity to the brain and resulting on greater brain efficiency. So, we can think even well than we could before!

5. Avoid HEAD-COVERING while sleeping

I admit that I usually do this while I'm sleeping but actually it does not good for our brain. This is because, when our heads are being covered by pillows, it actually increases the concentration of carbon dioxide and decreases the concentration of oxygen that gets into our lungs. This bad habit will eventually leads to brain damage. I swear I'll never cover up my head again while sleeping after this.

6. Get a GOOD SLEEP

Our brains are not machines because it needs rest and the only suitable time for our brain to rest is when we have a good sleep. Why I said that a good sleep contributes to a healthier brain? This is because, sleeping is the time when our memory tries to consolidate and therefore improves our memory. So, make sure we have enough sleep of 7 to 8 hours per night.  


7. EXERCISE! 
For those of you who still deny this, EXERCISE does help in having better mental health. It is because; regular exercise increases the amount of oxygen that gets into our brain. Consequently, our brain will produce more chemicals that boost intelligence. Pretty amazing right? So, get your shoes now and do anything that makes our heat pumping!
